Greetings, dear St. James Community,
Thank you to everyone for your wonderful participation in our sung prayer at Mass every weekend. It is so beautiful to worship together with familiar hymns that we all know and can sing from the heart.
I would like to inform you that our Mass setting will be changing in the next few weeks. If you would like to familiarize yourself with this music, please check out:
Mass of Angels and Saints, which is found in our hymnal beginning at number 361 Sanctus (“Holy, Holy” begins at 11:00 in the video), 362 Memorial Acclamation (“Save Us, Savior of the World” begins at 13:25 in the video) and 363 Great Amen (begins at 13:50 in the video). We will sing the Lamb of God from Mass of Christ the Savior by Dan Schutte. (This one is not in our hymnal, but it is easy enough to follow and is linked below for reference).
For now, we will retain the same Gloria, until these changes settle in and our congregation becomes comfortable singing these new Mass parts.
May St. Cecelia, St. Gregory the Great, and St. Hildegard intercede for our music ministry here at St. James!
