As is our custom, St. James the Apostle plans to adopt 200+ families from Catholic Charities and St. Vincent de Paul clients, and we need the entire parish to come together to serve a blessed Christmas to these families. Beginning on the weekend of November 9 and 10, we will have our family selection process available in the Narthex after all Masses. This process will continue throughout the month of November until all families are adopted.
The adoption process includes choosing a family you would like to adopt to provide a gift for each family member, and food and/or gift cards for up to 2-weeks’ worth of groceries for the family. You can select whatever size family you are comfortable providing for. Families range from one person up to as many as 10 in the family.
This has traditionally been a wonderful way for St. James to show great generosity and share the love of Christ with those less fortunate for Christmas. All gifts will be due at designated times on Thursday, December 5 and Friday, December 6.
If you are unable to visit our table in the narthex, but wish to adopt a family, please click on the link to complete and submit the Family Selection Form and we will be in contact with you: https://form.jotform.com/233074365015046
If you would like to help us to facilitate this process whether by manning a table in the narthex during the month of November, or assisting with the receipt and distribution of gifts, please email Mike Progar at mprogar@alumni.nd.edu, or call 630-740-3025.
