Christ is risen! He is risen indeed. Alleluia!
The Paschal greeting, also known as the Easter Acclamation, is an ancient custom among Christians. This greeting and response is lifted directly from similar passages in the Gospels. In the Latin Church, that is, for Roman Catholics, the ancient exchange echoes the salutation of the angel to Mary Magdalene, to Mary the mother of James, and to Joseph of Arimathea, at the empty tomb on the first Easter morning. The tomb was empty.
Fr. Keith, our pastor, Fr. Tom, our parochial administrator, and the entire staff of St. James the Apostle wish you and your loved ones a blessed and happy Easter!
