This weekend at all of the Masses, Fr. David announced his retirement at the end of June 2022.
Dear Parishioners,
I wanted all of you to know that this past week I visited with our Bishop, Bishop Ronald Hicks, and asked for…and was granted…permission to retire this coming June.
I have had some health issues to deal with…no one issue life threatening at this point…but putting all of them together has led me to make this decision after much prayer, reflection and discernment. I will remain here as pastor until July 1 of this year.
So I ask for your prayers during this time of transition and will continue to pray for all of you as I promised the first day I arrived here. In the meantime, I will do the best I can to continue guiding the parish as we follow Jesus and live as His faithful disciples.
I do not know at this time who my replacement will be, but as soon as I do and am permitted to make the announcement I will do so. Thank you and God bless you.
Fr. David Hankus
