We’re Back! Better than Normal! And thankfully, August is St. James’ month to collect and donate food to the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.

You are a parish that has shown strong support! Even when we were somewhat restricted in our ability to assemble, your donations helped to furnish food that greatly assisted low income families, seniors, single parents, people with disabilities and the homeless.

In 2020, despite challenging times, you stepped forward, along with others in the community, and assisted the Pantry’s mission. As a result they were able to serve over 35,000 clients and distribute 761,000 pounds of food or 634,000 meals!

• Your food donations helped fill the shelves.

• Your donations of time helped stock the shelves, assist clients and pickup food from local business partners.

• Your monetary donations allowed the Pantry to purchase fresh produce and dairy.

• Especially during summer additional food is given to families with children replacing school lunch programs, increasing the demand.

Please review the most needed items and drop non-perishable items in the Coat Room of the church.

On July 18th “From the Pastor” Father David wrote about the symbolism of Food for the Body and Soul. He closed with a message that the Lord provides when we are in in need and that we in turn are to provide the same for others in His Name.

Again, thank you for your generous help! God will certainly bless you.
