With our limited amount of reopening volunteers St. James the Apostle Parish is able to offer two indoor Masses with restricted capacity of 77 on Christmas Eve. In addition, we will offer two parking lot Masses which are able to accommodate many more parishioners: One on Christmas Eve at 3 P.M. and one on Christmas Day at 9 A.M.
Please note: The obligation for participation in Sunday and Holy Day Masses remains dispensed.
Due to COVID restrictions, it is necessary to register in advance for the indoor Masses we are hosting on Christmas Eve at 6 P.M. and 10:30 P.M. Entry will only be available to those who have registered and secured a seat in advance. We are unable to accept anyone without a confirmed reservation. The doors of the Church will open 20 minutes prior to the start of Mass and will be locked when Mass begins.
Links to sign up for our two indoor Masses will be released on Friday, December 18th at 1:00 P.M. via a Flocknote email to those who are registered to receive them, as well as will be posted on our website, http://www.stjamesge.org. Click on the header, Celebrating Christmas at St. James.
For phone-in registrations, please call (630) 469-7540, ext. 211 any time after 1 P.M. on Friday. If your call isn’t answered, please leave a message with your name and number and your call will be returned within one business day. These seats will be registered on a first call, first serve basis.
There is no registration for either of our parking lot Masses on Christmas Eve at 3:00 P.M. and Christmas Day at 9:00 A.M. The lots will be opened at 2:30 P.M. on Christmas Eve and at 8:30 A.M. on Christmas Day. For the purposes of social distancing, we are able to accommodate cars in every other space where there isn’t a parking cone. Lots will be closed once they are full.
Please note: the Glen Ellyn Police Department will not permit cars to park on Park or Fawell Blvd.
We will also offer Christmas Mass on our YouTube channel, St. James the Apostle Glen Ellyn: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPGsN2-Ns582cA33cFFmnbQ.
We will send the link to this Mass via a Flocknote email as well as post it on our website on Christmas Eve.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to find creative means by which to celebrate Christmas within the limitations of capacity and available volunteers.
A Blessed and Merry Christmas to you and those you love!
