In these unprecedented times, when so many of us are unable to gather for public worship, we may be experiencing a sense of disconnection from our family of God at St. James.
Similarly, those of us who are able to return to public worship may feel a sense of loss and disconnection from our brothers and sisters in Christ whose faces we miss seeing gathered at the Table of the Lord each week.
Although we are physically apart at this time, the truth is we remain ONE in Christ.
Therefore, in an effort to stay connected, we are happy to launch Project ONE at St. James as a safe and creative way to bridge this temporary obstacle the pandemic has ushered into our lives.
There are three ways you can get involved in Project ONE:
- Sign up to receive a monthly care package from your St. James Parish Family. Don’t want a care package yourself, but know of a parent/friend who would appreciate one? Let them know about the project and ask them to sign up. What will this care package look like? Each month’s gift bag will include some spiritual goodies, some physical goodies and a whole lot of love. Items will be different each month, so you may look forward to a surprise. How will I get my care package? We can arrange for contact free drop-off by one of our project volunteers –OR–we can arrange for contact free pickup outside the Ministry Center.
- Sign up to pray for a fellow parishioner and write a note of support to include in their monthly care package. You will be provided with the first name of one of our recipients and asked to write a note and deliver it to the Ministry Center before the monthly delivery. In addition, we will ask you to pray for this person for the month.
- Sign up to deliver the Project ONE monthly care packages via contact free delivery outside the home of a recipient. This requires you to pick up a package and arrange with the recipient a time to safely leave it outside their doorstep.
Let us never forget we are ONE body in Christ! Sign up today to connect with your family of faith!
If you want to get involved, please complete and submit this electronic form and we will be in touch when we have gathered enough recipients and participants.
