Congratulations to Marilyn, Andrew and Christopher!

Every year at the Easter Vigil, we receive into the Church those who desire to enter the Catholic Church and who have completed the RCIA Program. In addition, at the Vigil we celebrate Sacraments of Initiation with Catholics who have not fully completed their Initiation into the Church. This year we had three parishioners who were prepared to receive Sacraments at the Vigil, but were unable to do so because of the shutdown.

We are pleased to share with you that in the last few weeks since reopening, Fr. David celebrated Masses at which these parishioners were able to receive the Sacraments of Initiation.

The first Mass was with parishioners and siblings Marilyn and Andrew, who were Baptized, received First Eucharist and were Confirmed at a Mass with their parents, godparents and sponsors present. We welcome them into the Church!

The second Mass was celebrated last Saturday morning with Christopher, a young man who was baptized, but still had yet to receive the Sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. He gathered with his fiance, family members and sponsor to finalize his full initiation into the Church. We congratulate Christopher and pray for him and his bride to be Sarah as they prepare to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage on Saturday, August 22nd at St. James in Arlington Heights.

Let us pray for our brothers and sister in Christ, that the Spirit of right judgment and courage may strengthen them in the years ahead and that the Spirit of wonder and awe may help them to always welcome and adore Jesus, the bread of life. Amen.
