When the pilgrims settled in America, they celebrated a meal with the Native Americans, giving thanks for the bountiful harvest. The turkey became a symbol of that first Thanksgiving feast. Fast forwarding to the 21st century, America is now made up of many different ethnic groups, each giving thanks according to their culture.
The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry goal is to provide complete Thanksgiving Meals of choice to those struggling to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Your contributions will enable the pantry to assist those requesting help. If you know anyone unable to provide a Thanksgiving meal for their family, please have them contact the pantry at 630-469-8668. For more information, see our poster board located in the narthex or visit the website to donate: http://www.glenellynfoodpantry.org/thanksgiving-meal-appeal/
The members of the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry are grateful for the strong support it continues to receive from the St. James community. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.
