This weekend, parishioners will have an opportunity to support a very worthy cause and at the same time honor their mothers, grandmothers, or any other special mother (daughters and daughters-in-law) in their lives. After all Masses that weekend, we will be distributing beautiful Mother’s Day cards for any free-will donation to Project Love. The recipients of the cards will be remembered in the prayers of Project Love throughout the year.

Project Love, a program of Illinois Right to Life, provides grants to pregnant women and new mothers in a financial crisis. They usually need help with rent, utility bills or food for their children. They are referred by pregnancy centers like Waterleaf and other agencies like the St. Vincent De Paul Society. All proceeds will be used to give help and hope to these women at a difficult time in their lives. Over 1350 Illinois families have been supported by Project Love since 1996.  All donations are greatly appreciated.

This is a substitute for the pro-life Roses for Mother’s Day commitment that our parish has done in honor of mothers for at least 40 years.  When Illinois Citizens for Life merged with Illinois Right to Life it was not possible to continue with the large cartons of roses. We hope you will support this new idea as beautifully as you did the roses.
