Today was the kick off of Project Martha at St. James in Glen Ellyn. We have paired up with World Relief to teach refugee women some life skills. Today’s class was the first of two sessions to learn how to cut hair, so they can begin doing so for their husbands and children.

A big thanks goes to hair dresser Pam Hecht of Studio 34 in Downers Grove for donating her time and talent to make a difference for these beautiful Burmese women. Thanks to the generosity of several people, each woman will leave class next week with a new pair of hair cutting scissors and clippers.

Next up: Cooking and Baking. Please consider making a donation in honor of a woman you know and love, and we will send her an acknowledgement of your generosity. In addition, a Mass will be offered at St. James for the intentions of the donors and honorees of Project Martha.

P.S. Mother’s day is right around the corner! Wouldn’t this be a cool way to honor your mom?!31646749_10155718163789372_7136888452150198272_n
