Established in 1982 by the Joliet Council of Catholic Women, the living memorial which honors the late Bishop Romeo Blanchette is supported by donations. Scholarships in his name are made available each year to students in a parish with an affiliated Council of Catholic Women Organization and to students who will be attending a Catholic High School in the Joliet Diocese. One student per parish may be nominated by their Council of Catholic Women. Scholarship awards are made on the basis of financial need and student profiles information which include grades, service to parish and community, and an essay from the student. (Parents: FACTS accounts are required and they will request your 2015 Tax returns.)

The St. James Council of Catholic Women are now accepting applications for this scholarship. Over the years well over three hundred thousand dollars in scholarships have been given to students in need. St. James students have been awarded scholarships in the past. Completed Applications must be received at the Parish Ministry Center no later than Monday, April 1, 2016.  Incomplete applications will not be considered. If you are interested in a scholarship application form please contact Deb Drager at to have an application packet emailed or mailed to you.
