 Faith

Congratulations to our 8th grade students who were confirmed on 3/21.  This was a 3 year journey which they took on with the leadership of their teachers who helped them to complete their final sacrament of Initiation (along with Baptism and Eucharist.) Through Confirmation they have become witnesses to the mission of Christ and receive the obligation to continue His mission to transform the world by word and deed.  They completed many hours of service projects in preparation for this day.  We congratulate them on becoming adults in the church.

Sports

Basketball season ended in March with the 6th grade boys losing a hard fought Championship game by one point.  The 5th grade boys fell in the semi-finals and the other teams had successful seasons that ended in the playoffs.  All the teams that competed represented St. James the Apostle well and learned good sportsmanship and teamwork.  We are grateful for all the volunteers who make this participation possible and to those who came out to support our teams.  Track season will be starting soon for 5th through 8th grade students!

Extra curricula

St James the Apostle students in 2nd through 8th grade have begun participating in a STEM enrichment program called, Let’s Code It -Programming.  The program stresses critical thinking, creativity, confidence, teamwork and problem solving to prepare the students for the 21st century and beyond.  Class topics include video game design, control statements, mathematical expressions, and more in an age appropriate level in a fun and engaging way.  Our students are enjoying this opportunity to enrich their regular studies with this program.
